The Lady Blackhawks pounded out 22 hits. They scored six in the first, four in the second, two in the third and four in the fifth inning.
Aiden Dayberry tossed a no-hitter and recorded eight strikeouts.
“Pea Ridge last year was the 1-seed,” Huntsville coach Greg Sone said following the game. “Coach (Josh) Reynolds does a good job with them. They just reload. They hit the ball well up and down the lineup. Their pitcher threw a good game. We’ve still got stuff to work on.”
The Pea Ridge game was the final contest before Huntsville’s spring break. The Lady Eagles will practice this week, but also have some time away from the diamond.
“[We’ll] give them some time off, let them be with their families and go on some trips,” Sone said. “[We’re]looking forward to coming back. [We] look forward to some time off and getting some rest.”
The Lady Eagles last Tuesday beat Green Forest (1-4) 13-10.
